Even though fans were able to get their first-look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer earlier today, we were only able to see one mode from the game. Well, it seems like fans won’t have to wait too much longer to learn more about everything the multiplayer has to offer, as Infinity Ward has announced that the full gameplay reveal will be coming on August 1, 2019.
Details about the reveal are scarce, however, Activision and Infinity Ward say the event will “reveal the multiplayer universe of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.” Of course, this interesting part of that sentence is the use of the word “universe.” In all my time being a fan of COD and covering, I’ve never seen the developers use the word “universe” to describe it’s multiplayer. This instinctively tells me that the mode will be incredibly different from everything that we are used to, however, that’s all speculation on my part.
Fans will be able to check out the reveal for themselves on Call of Duty’s official Twitch channel when it goes live in August. As of the time of this writing, it’s unknown how much will be shown off, or how long the reveal itself will be.
For those that don’t know, the mode that was revealed earlier this morning is called Gunfight and it pits two players against two other players in a fight for a flag at the center of a small map.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to be released on October 25, 2019, and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
